Four weeks old already. It feels like just yesterday these little Goldendoodles were tiny, sleepy newborns tucked close to their mama, and now they’re becoming curious, playful little personalities with plenty to say—and even more to explore.
Week Four is a particularly exciting milestone in our nursery because so many changes happen at once. Our puppies are becoming more aware of their surroundings, interacting more with one another, and beginning to show little glimpses of the personalities they’ll carry with them into their forever homes.
Puppy Picks Begin!
This is also the week our puppy selection process begins for families who have already reserved a puppy.
We know choosing your puppy is one of the most exciting parts of this journey, and we want our families to have the opportunity to watch their puppies develop before making their selection. At this age, we’re beginning to see more individual traits emerge—who is the little explorer, who is happiest cuddled in your lap, who is always in the middle of the action, and who would rather quietly observe everything happening around them.
As picks begin, families will receive updated photos and information to help them make their selection.
For those still hoping to join this litter, availability will continue to change as families make their selections. If you’ve been considering one of these puppies, now is the time to reach out and learn more about the remaining available puppies.
Hello, Puppy Mash!
Another exciting Week Four milestone is the introduction of puppy mash!
Until now, mama has been doing the majority of the work, but our little ones are officially ready to begin learning about real food. Puppy mash gives them an opportunity to start transitioning from nursing to eating independently while introducing them to new textures, smells, and flavors.
The first few meals are always entertaining. There may be more stepping in the food than actually eating it, a few messy faces, and plenty of tiny paws that somehow end up covered in breakfast!
This transition happens gradually. We continue to monitor each puppy closely as they learn to eat, making adjustments along the way to ensure they are comfortable and progressing appropriately.
Puppy Grass & Early Potty Training
Week Four is also when we begin introducing something that will become an important part of their daily routine: puppy grass!
As the puppies become more mobile and begin eating solid food, we can start taking advantage of their natural instinct to keep their sleeping area clean. We introduce a designated potty area with puppy grass and begin early-onset potty training in a gentle, age-appropriate way.
At this stage, we aren’t expecting perfect potty habits—and we certainly aren’t expecting four-week-old puppies to be completely potty trained! Instead, we are beginning to teach them that there is a specific place designated for potty time.
We watch for those early cues, encourage them toward the appropriate area, and celebrate their successes. Over time, this creates consistency and begins building a foundation that their families can continue when they bring their puppy home.
There will absolutely be accidents along the way. That’s part of having babies! But every successful trip to the grass is one more little lesson learned.
Our goal is to make potty training less of a brand-new concept when they leave our home and more of an established routine they already recognize.
More Exploring, More Playing, More Learning
Week Four also means a whole new level of interaction in the nursery.
The puppies are becoming increasingly mobile and curious. They’re playing with their littermates, investigating their surroundings, and beginning to interact with the people caring for them in new ways.
This is the age where the nursery starts to feel a little less like a newborn room and a little more like a tiny puppy classroom. Every day brings something new to discover.
Our goal isn’t simply to raise adorable puppies. We want to thoughtfully introduce them to the sights, sounds, experiences, and routines that will help prepare them for the transition into their individual homes.
The Journey Is Just Beginning
There is something so special about Week Four. They are still very much babies, but their personalities are beginning to shine through, and we’re getting our first real glimpses of the individual puppies they are becoming.
For our reserved families, this is the week you’ve been waiting for. Puppy picks are beginning, and the countdown to bringing your little one home suddenly feels much more real.
For the families still watching and waiting for the right puppy to come along, this is a wonderful time to follow along. These babies have so much growing and learning ahead of them—and we can’t wait to share every step.
Four weeks down. So many more memories to make.

Three weeks old is one of our favorite milestones. It marks the beautiful transition from the sleepy newborn stage into a world filled with curiosity, exploration, and the very first glimpses of each puppy’s unique personality.
This week, our puppies are becoming much more aware of their surroundings. Their eyes and ears are now fully open, allowing them to experience the world in entirely new ways. Wobbly steps are quickly turning into confident little walks, and their interactions with their littermates become more purposeful each day. What once consisted mostly of sleeping and nursing is now filled with gentle play, discovering new textures, and seeking out human connection.
One of the most exciting parts of this stage is that we begin to see the earliest signs of temperament emerge. Week three gives us our first opportunity to observe the subtle differences that make each puppy special. Some confidently lead the way into new adventures, while others pause to carefully take everything in before joining the fun. Some naturally gravitate toward our laps for cuddles, while others are eager to investigate every toy and new experience around them.
These early observations are invaluable. We spend intentional time with each puppy every day, taking note of how they interact with people, their littermates, and their environment. Over the coming weeks, these observations will continue to grow into a much clearer picture of each puppy’s individual temperament, allowing us to thoughtfully match every puppy with their new family.
Our Early Neurological Stimulation and continued enrichment program also remain an important part of their daily routine. As their senses continue to develop, gentle handling, age-appropriate experiences, and positive interactions help build confidence and resilience while supporting healthy neurological development during this critical stage. We also introduce puppies to new sounds such as carpet cleaners and televisions. In addition, we are introducing them to the outdoors in a very controlled setting, with new sites and smells.
Although they’re still incredibly small, these little personalities are beginning to blossom before our eyes. Every tail wag, curious glance, playful pounce, and sleepy snuggle reminds us that we’re witnessing the very beginning of who they are becoming.
As always, we’re incredibly grateful to share this journey with our future puppy families. Watching these babies grow is a privilege we never take for granted, and we can’t wait to see how their unique personalities continue to unfold in the weeks ahead.

There is a quiet magic that happens around the two-week mark. After days of being guided only by instinct, warmth, and the comforting presence of their mother, our puppies begin their first steps toward discovering the world around them.
Their tiny eyes are opening, offering them their very first glimpses of the people, sounds, and environment that will shape the beginning of their lives. These moments are subtle but incredibly meaningful — a soft blink, a curious gaze, a little expression that hints at the personality waiting to emerge.
At this age, our puppies are still spending most of their time sleeping, nursing, and growing, but important developmental changes are happening every day. Their senses are awakening, their bodies are becoming stronger, and their individual temperaments are beginning to shine through. Some are naturally more curious, some are more relaxed and observant, and some are already showing signs of being the confident companions they are destined to become.
During these early weeks, we also incorporate age-appropriate developmental practices such as Early Neuological Stimulation (ENS). These gentle exercises are designed to provide controlled, positive exposure during a critical window of development, helping puppies begin building neurological pathways that support healthy responses to new experiences. ENS may help encourage improved adaptability, resillience, and confidence as their senses continue to develp and they prepare for the many sights, sounds, and experiences they will encounter throughout life.
We believe the foundation of a remarkable family companion begins long before a puppy ever leaves our home. From their earliest days, our puppies are raised with intention through gentle handling, a nurturing home environment, and thoughtful early experiences designed to support confidence, resilience, and emotional development.
The first weeks of life are precious and fleeting. We cherish every tiny milestone — from those first opened eyes to the first wobbly steps and the first moments of playful interaction with their siblings. These are the moments that remind us why raising puppies is not simply a process, but a privilege.
As their world expands, so does ours. We look forward to watching these little ones continue to grow, reveal their unique personalities, and prepare to bring a lifetime of love, companionship, and joy to the families who will one day call them their own.

Hi, and welcome!
We’re so glad you’re here. Whether you’re searching for your future best friend or simply following along on our puppy journey, we hope you’ll feel right at home.
I’m Morgan, the heart behind Cabell Coop & Co. Doodles. My husband, our two children, and I are a family from East Tennessee who loves animals, the outdoors, and raising happy, healthy dogs. Around here, you’ll usually find us outside on the farm, caring for our animals, playing with puppies, or making memories together. Raising our dogs isn’t just something we do—it’s something our entire family enjoys.
Why We Became Breeders
People often ask what inspired us to start breeding Goldendoodles, and the answer is simple—our own dog.
When we welcomed our first Goldendoodle into our family, we quickly fell in love with everything about him, so much so that we decided to add another not long after. Our second goldendoodle is now our Dam. Her gentle temperament, intelligence, loyalty, and playful personality made her the perfect fit for our family. She was wonderful with our children, eager to learn, and had an incredible ability to make everyone she met smile.
As she matured, we found ourselves wishing more families could experience a dog like her. We loved her personality so much that we wanted the opportunity to see those same wonderful traits passed on to a new generation of puppies. That’s ultimately what led us to begin this journey.
For us, breeding has never been about simply producing puppies—it’s about preserving the qualities we fell in love with and helping other families experience that same joy.
Why Goldendoodles?
We truly believe Goldendoodles offer the best of both worlds. We love the intelligence and athleticism of the Poodle paired with the friendly, affectionate, family-oriented personality of the Golden Retriever.
Every puppy has its own unique personality, but one thing they all seem to share is an incredible desire to be with their people. Whether it’s accompanying you on adventures, playing with the kids in the backyard, or curling up on the couch after a long day, Goldendoodles have a special way of becoming part of the family.
Our Philosophy
At Cabell Coop & Co. Doodles, our goal has never been to produce as many puppies as possible.
Our goal is to thoughtfully raise well-socialized, healthy puppies that transition confidently into their forever homes.
From the day they’re born, our puppies are handled with love and care. They grow up surrounded by everyday household sights and sounds, children, and plenty of positive interactions. We believe these early experiences help create confident, adaptable companions.
Health and temperament are incredibly important to us. We carefully select our parent dogs and work hard to give every puppy the very best start in life because we know these puppies will become cherished members of someone’s family.
Looking Back at Our First Litter
Our first litter exceeded every expectation we had.
Watching our puppies grow and then hearing updates from their new families has been one of the greatest rewards. We’ve received countless messages about how quickly they adapted to their new homes, how affectionate and eager to learn they are, and how much joy they’ve brought to their families.
Many of our puppy families continue to stay in touch, sharing birthday photos, training milestones, family adventures, and sweet updates. Those relationships mean the world to us because they remind us that we’re not just placing puppies—we’re helping create lifelong companions.
